I don't like to cook :P
Cooking isn't really my thing. My husband likes it and I try to like it. Let's face it, he's a better cook than me and I'm okay with it! The good news is that eating a mostly whole foods diet doesn't require a ton of intricate cooking- but it may take thought and preparation. For me, I often prepare smoothies the night before work to save time in the morning. We batch cook hearty stove-top oatmeal, so that it lasts for several days. I think ahead about how my day is going to go, so that I can bring healthy snacks if I'm on the run. My go-to prep-free snacks include nuts, seeds, bananas or apples with peanut butter, carrots and hummus, and quality protein bars. Weeknight dinners often include simple entrees like a taco salad, a veggie omelet with sprouted toast, a grain bowl, or a stuffed sweet potato- nothing fancy but well rounded. These food items have become staples in our household. If I'm going to a restaurant, I often scour the menu ahead of time so I have an idea of what would be most suitable for me while appealing to my pallet. Getting into these habits has set me on the path to success for the long hall- and these habits could work for you, too...
